Fort Santa Isabel was constructed by the Spanish 350 years ago and still stands today. It was once surrounded by water but 20 years ago the local authorities reclaimed the sea around it. The fort is constructed from black rock, and has a small museum. A church stands in the center of the fort and some old cannons can also be seen.

I took some footages for my travel content with an asian travel show and aired Fort Sta Isabel... It was grand.... the structure itself was a shadow of what power and strength used to be... Taytay Palawan must have been a seat of powerful governance before... The fort is strategically situated like a watchman to welcome guests or protect itself from struggles... Walking down the aisle- you get a little eerie feel reminiscent of what could have taken place during the past centuries... must visit...

Only 30psp to visit. Would have paid 100psp -- takes about maximum 30-45mind to read the info and walk around -- we arrived at 4.45 and asked what time it closed and we told when you have finished looking which was really nice and friendly
We came out about 5.30 and the doors were half shut then.

There has been much restoration and it is great that such a historical building is being looked after now
It would be great if it was really well floodlit at night and it would be quite an attraction to see

Fort that dates back to 1667. A few cannons and a chapel is still intact. Takes about an hour or so by van from El Nido/Airport

While the city itself isn’t that great, the small fort for sure increase the experience of visiting Taytay. The entrance fee is 25 pesos, and the fort is well kept, which gives you that historic feeling. It is quick to see, and it is not what one might expect, but it is something you have to see when in Taytay.

It was my first time in taytay palawan and it seems that life here is so simple.the fort was just walking distance from the municipal hall.theres an entrance fee of 20pesos but i think its worth it.its so amazing that they preserved the cannons from the world war..the ruins are so delightful to see overlooking both the mountain and sea..so mesmerizing!

Entrance was P30 per person.

It's a great place to explore and doesn't take much time at all. It'd be nice to have a picnic in the garden atop of the fort.

From the garden there are stunning views of Población and Taytay's islands.

This is indeed part of Philippine history. Built hundreds of years ago. You will not just witness history here but also get a good view of the sea in Taytay, Palawan. I recommend it for travelers going to El Nido or going back to Puerto Princesa from El Nido. Definitely a must-see place.
