I toured New England, New Brunswick and then Nova Scotia - all on a Harley. The view from this lighthouse was spectacular BUT, you have to drive/ride uphill on a gravel road. This is not a very fun event on an 800+ pound motorcycle loaded down with luggage. I would highly recommend this place if you are traveling by car.

Beautiful views abound here, it would be a great place for a picnic. Very quiet as well, a good place to mediate. I could have spent a significantly longer time here happily. Definitely worth the trip.

Beautiful view!! Well worth the drive and so quiet I could have sat there all day. Only a few other souls around and lots of benches to sit and contemplate the view. Was a nice breeze even on a hot day, just lovely.

We visited multiple light houses in NS, PEI and Cape Breton. This one was the best in my book. It had amazing view of the water from the height. Uphill road to the light house was well worth it to take.

Signage to Cape George wasn’t the best. The road to the lighthouse is quite rough. A beautiful view at the top!

Stopped in while traveling from Cape Breton to Halifax and were even more pleased with this visit than our prior visit. We stayed for about and hour and were able to see whales and a bald eagle while seated on the benches overlooking the bay, nice pluses in addition to all the beauty that the site holds with the lighthouse and the cliffs.

On our way to Antigonish, we took a scenic drive to the lighthouse. Breathtaking is how I would describe it. A little out of our way but so worth the drive. It is the "Cabot Trail" of the Merigomish area. It was a beautiful, sunny but cool day. If out for a pleasant drive, do not miss checking this out!

This was an easy and enjoyable trip from Antigonish. The views along the way are a wonderful sampling of the coastal beauty and natural setting of NS. We elected to walk up to the lighthouse from the trail end building as you enter the area from the main road but you can drive to the lighthouse. Picnic tables available to sit and eat and enjoy the breeze and sun and views

This is on a northern point up on cliffs with nice views back towards Ballantyne's Cove.

There is a plaque from the keeper's 12 kids on the lighthouse.

Beautiful vistas from the cliffs, and worth a stop for the views and scenery.

Located on Lighthouse Rd. off Highway 337 just north of Ballantyne's Cove, this area commands an outstanding view of St. George's Bay and the Northumberland Strait. Cape Breton is easily visible to the east while Prince Edward Island to the north is visible on a clear day!
