The town of Bulnes is very beautiful and you have to see it once in your life. The service provided by Alsa on the funicular is terrible, they make you go up and then down in a caravan of things on holidays and then you have to run up 2 km because you miss the funicular, it is very expensive 7 minutes in a rock tunnel €22
Bars and restaurants should step up and offer slightly cheaper tapas and drinks. Most of us left with just one beer.

If you climb up here and, like me, find yourself alone to soak up the magnificent scenery, you will be very well rewarded. Stunning. Just me, a couple of pretty little finches and the sound of rushing water. Take a picnic and linger. Magic!

We walked up from Poncebos and were recommended this place by other walkers. You could take the funicular and walk the last hill through the village. Lovely plate of local cheese with friendly service. But it is the view down the valley from the terrace which is spectacular.

This spot is a short walk uphill from Bulnes. It offers a nice view over the lower valley and the townships below. You will need a good pair of shoes or boots to go here. Can be hiked in a bout + 1 hour from Poncebos or 15 mins from the Funicular.

Do the walk Poncebos to Bulnes and add this 10 minutes to it. Choose a good clear day and wear sensible shoes or sports shoes. Go early in the am an you can park easily, do the whole thing and still have time for a late lunch somewhere.

You can reach this wonderful mirador by small road or by path.
Both from Poncebos.
We went by the small path and "climbed" the 2 km to the mirador. Very nice walk.
Mirador is amazing. Two small cafes on top.

A great stopover place just outside of Poo de Cabrales to view the spectacular Picos range on a clear day. There's a sign board identifying all the highest peaks.

We went hiking and it was magnificent, sweeping landscapes with a serene feeling; calm that we were there close to heaven
