The colour coded waymakers for the walks have all faded so you haven't got a clue which trail you are following! Some are hidden behind branches. We tried the orange route and ended up walking along a disused railway for 2 miles before turning back! We then spotted the way we should have gone but it looks like it is... More

I come to the Afan Forest Park quite often for a walk in the glorious countryside. This week I did the short walk from Rhyslyn car park. Only four miles but it was excellent. Peace and quiet. A steep climb at the start but the views are wonderful. Cannot recommend the park too much. Try it.

We spent a weekend here, hired a bike and had a morning instruction from Ben at Afan Valley Bike Shed who I would highly recommend. Gave us the much needed tips to give us the confidence to go it alone. Did Blue Scar and Penhydd and an uphill section of Y Wal trails. We visited the Trail Head and Afan... More

I've been heading up to Afan to ride bikes for over 10 years. The trail network has expanded and become the perfect place to ride, whether you're just starting out riding or fancy an all day epic. The blue scar trail is a great introduction for anyone who fancies getting into mountain biking. The new descents on the blade trail... More

Seems very popular for mountain bikers. The walk we took was really good, not too muddy, taking in the river and climbing up and back along the old mineral railway line. Our dogs loved the freedom and for a paltry £1 to park the car all day at Afan Forest Visitor centre, you could spend a day with walks either... More

I attend the venue regularly, either to walk or to Mountain Bike. The scenery is spectacular and devoid of litter. Some of the mountain bike routes are difficult- but I knew that prior to attending after checking the website. There are many easier routes available. Try starting off at Pontrhydyfen and cycling up to Cymmer and back - that relatively... More

After walking in the forest, I called in for lunch. Although the menu is small, I was pleased there were plenty of veggie dishes on the menu - spicy bean burger, butternut squash and goats cheese burger, sandwiches, jackets. Staff were pleasant and food was well presented with a really lovely side salad with fruit. They have fresh coffee and... More

The centre is locates in the stunning valley setting has some of the best off road cycle tracks in the UK.
