Having seen so much positive publicity about this monument, I was very disappointed on turning up to see a notice saying the artwork was only available for viewing at weekends - and then only by appointment with a local resident. The setting is delightful with the mound of the burial chamber overlooking a lovely bay. What you can see is... More

On a windy afternoon you can really appreciate the remoteness of the location - stunning. I would recommend that you do a bit of research before visiting if you want to visit the interior, which is well worth it. We went on an Open Doors weekend where it was busy but we also had a guide to explain the significance... More

We visited here during a visit to Anglesey. For anyone who is interested in Prehistory the Island has so many stunning sites. Set on top of the cliffs this is such a wonderful site, well worth walking along to costal path and seeing it in perspective with it's context. Just wonderful.

We visited on a wet and windy day and walked the short walk to the burial chamber, worth the walk and it is a beautiful example of a burial chamber and the views and excellent, free parking near the small sandy cove.

This is a large burial mound set out on a headland offering fantastic views of Anglesey's coast and back into its interior. It is a pleasant 5 minute walk from the beachside carpark and is quite impressive when you get there. Unfortunately, it is gated, so you can't get access to the interior. Apparently it is unlocked a few times... More

This place is one of the easier tombs and stones to find.. The views from here are stunning. The day I went was very windy, but if you went on a hot day with the kids you can explore the tomb and the surrounding fields.. Then spend the day amongst surfers at the beach. There is plenty of parking. You... More

You must ring in advance for someone to open the chamber due to graffiti on the carved stones, however if you have any interesting in our heritage at all, it is worth the effort. the small bay below is also worth a visit. Inside the chamber there is incredibly old rock art, including spirals and chevron patterns. The chamber itself... More

This burial chamber is located high on a hill overlooking the wild Irish Sea. On the CADW website it said that the chamber was open in March, but when we stopped to pick up the key we were told it did not open until Easter. We went anyway, and we were able to at least peak in through the locked... More

Barclodiad y Gawres Burial Chamber was an easy stop off the coastal road. It is adjacent to a beach. It is an easy walk from the parking lot. In order to go past the 2nd iron gate, you need to go to the local store and check out the key with deposit.
