The House and Gardens are certainly worth a visit. The house contents are interesting and the patriotic peace exhibition featuring the 5th Marquess and WW1 is fascinating. The formal Gardens are well laid out with ample seating opportunities and a stroll down to the lake...More

Visited as a group of 9 with children ranging between 16 and 9, they enjoyed the adventure playground and the adults enjoyed the house and gardens. A lovely spot

The house and gardens are beautiful, however I was quite disappointed by the small amount of the house that was open to the public, and therefore not worth the money. However the gardens are wonderful and the adventure playground for the kids makes a wonderful...More

Bowood House in Wiltshire is interesting architecturally as are its contents. It is for example home to the death mask of Napoleon Bonaparte. This is not however a National Trust property. It is part of the Historic Houses Association as are many properties that are...More

I had been really looking forward to going to Bowood with our six and eight year old boys as it was my favourite place to visit when I was their age. Have to say it more than met expectations and hasn’t changed very much at...More

Four of my family and I visited Bowood House on Saturday. The house has some interesting items to look at and read about. I'd say the gardens are the main attraction though. The weather was lovely so we spent the majority of our time walking...More

The house was very grand and full of interesting pieces with plenty of information to read up on. The gardens are huge and made for a lovely walk, and the scenery around the lake was beautiful.

We visited Bowood House whilst staying in the area. The car park is very close to the entrance, which is also a nice cafe (and can be visited without having to visit the house and gardens), but the actual house is a long walk from...More

We meet-up with my bestie, who hasn't visited since 2001. We got a reduction for hubbie (who is now over 60), my bestie and her hubbie had a voucher and I (happily) paid the full fee for house and garden £12.75. We took a nice...More

Yes in places, especially close to the house on the terrace. We spotted a few seats near the lake and the waterfall. There are places to eat and drink and you can take a picnic also. Hope this helps
