I had wanted to visit this house and garden for a long time and my husband had last visited more than 30 years ago. A day off and a good weather forecast seemed the perfect excuse. We arrived about 10.30am and had hot drinks in...More

What a wonderful place, it was so peaceful, the Capability Brown landscape is stunning. We did the guided walk of the private walled garden, beautiful diverse areas from family swimming pool to the cut flower and vegetable garden. All immaculately kept by 4 gardeners. The...More

We are lucky enough to live just down the road from Bowood and we visit frequently. The children can happily spend the whole day at the adventure play park which is outstanding and they love the freedom of being able to go off safely, make...More

A superb parkland with lots to see and do, with plenty of things for children. The house is wonderful, although not the house that it was (the big house was demolished in 1955 and the family converted the Orangry into their living space). Lovely gardens...More

Go into the play are outside or the soft play inside, visit the orangery with the small collection of artefacts, walk around the immense gardens or down to the lakes. Lots to do and see.

Visited with a coach party so cannot comment on individual prices. However, Bowood House is a lovely place to spend some time. Looking inside the house didn't take long but the grounds and gardens outside are extensive. Lovely shop and café and a restaurant. The...More

This place is a little dream. Way to spend a sunny day...on arrival, the huge trees are awesome. The gardens are well manicured, makes one want to sit back - relax, and soak in the whole environment.

On a sunny day there is something here for everyone. The park is large, and there are plenty of good paths to walk on. Most reasonably fit people could walk from the house, along one side of the lake, to reach the cascade and the...More

Looked for a local house to visit when in the area for a couple of days and saw this was close to hotel. This was the 'small house' after the 'big house' was knocked down to settle taxes. There was much information on the the...More

Six of us, including two children, visited Bowood Gardens (not the house) on a Sunday. We had difficulty finding the place as there are very few road signs until you get almost on top of the entrance. A very friendly staff member offered to help...More

Yes in places, especially close to the house on the terrace. We spotted a few seats near the lake and the waterfall. There are places to eat and drink and you can take a picnic also. Hope this helps

Yes.There are a lot more to see in Bowood. Better stay there at least whole day to enjoy the beautiful garden, lake, house and surrounding areas.
