This is a really lovely old house, which is gradually being restored by a dedicated army of enthusiasts. It hosts outdoor theatre shows in the summer by the excellent local company Cygnet Theatre. Don't miss those.

Poltimore has a long and interesting history, and it is so sad as a ruin - but the dedicated volunteers that manage it and develop it make a visit very interesting and the events are fun. The surgery room from hospital days is fascinating.
