We drove to salcombe took the pedestrian ferry to east portlemouth then walked the coast path to Gara Rock and back across the inland route. It's such a stunning place in the sunshine. Beautiful beaches too. 4 miles. Recommended

At £1.60 each way, it is well worth the short ferry trip to visit the beach, both for the sand, which the kids will love, and the views back to Salcombe. The ferry runs from the steps next to the ferry inn (also worth a...More

Certainly worth a quick ferry ride over from Salcombe! Went on a recommendation and probably wouldn't have thought to otherwise but the beach is lovely, not as busy as South Sands but still with great views. Excellent place to walk dogs or mess around with...More

If you are staying in Salcombe this is the best beach for evening sunshine. A convenient kiosk serves refreshments. The Frey runs all day so you can hop back over to Salcombe if you are so inclined.

Great beaches - we love Mill Bay for stream damming fun and access to the crepé van during the summer and Sunny Cove for a bit more peace and quiet.

Lovely sandy beach, calm waters and a cafe. There's a little cafe and a regular ferry to Salcombe too. From here you can walk along the coastal oath.

We took the ferry over from Salcombe; had a walk to Gara Rock and returned via Mill Cove; what a stunning beach, wish we'd gone over there more often.

It gets little small at high tide and fishermans just around the corner is also rather nice. Good views of Salcombe and for watching the dinghy racing if it is Merlin rocket week or Salcombe regatta. WCs nearby on the road , the Venus cafe...More
