There are two beaches in Ferragudo, this one is the nearest to the Village Square. It’s less than 5 mins walk. I call it a River Beach as it’s on the River Arade. It’s a nice beach to sit and watch the world go by....More

Praia da Angrinha is an interesting beach as it overlooks the entrance to Portimao harbour and has the castle at one end. Not a beautiful beach but good for bathing if you're not a strong swimmer due to its sheltered position.

Close to centre of Ferragudo, you can actually park at one end of the beach if you drive round to the Forte Sao Joao. Popular with locals, no facilities here, just a quiet beach. If you want more lively, plus restaurants, go to Praia Grande

If you walk through to the end of the quay by the lifeboat station you can access a quiet sandy beach. There are an old assortment of local fisherman huts and a wide expanse of open sand. Views of the old castle.

Wide open sandy beach; not the best views but clean tidy and shallow for paddling. Suitable for young and old alike

A nice, clean beach. Not crowed like other beaches. Clean water and nice view over to Portimao. This place managed to keep its style whereas other beaches at the Algarve are no better anymore than beaches at Costa Blanca, etc being totally overcrowded and people...More
