Genuine items of local interest and the two Shropshire women I met there were a wellspring of information both about the exhibits and the history of the locale. This is history made real for all those who visit.

A fascinating house in the middle of the town by the town hall hosting a wee museum with an eclectic mix of objects. Free entry and open on a Sunday, unlike most of Bishops Castle. Take a look!

We chanced on the Museum during the towns Michaelmas festival. The gentle man who was on duty was very knowledgeable and polite. The displays are fascinating and informative. Probably 2 small for really small children and steep steps would be a problem for the very old or infirm.

I took my two grand-children in to have a look. It was great they were actually encouraged to touch some of the items, there were games for them to play and dressing up clothes to try. We could have spent much longer looking around but other members of the family were waiting - will definately go back when we have... More

Free entry!!! but you'll be happy to make a donation to the upkeep of such a unique place. Hands on in the school room - children are encouraged to play and dress up. Knowledgeable volunteers running the place

At the Monday market in the Town Hall across the road we met a lady running a fundraising stall for the museum, who explained that it's run by volunteers and currently only able to open at weekends. Sadly we had missed it but I've been in previous years and it's well worth a visit. Don't miss the terrifying mantrap which... More

Lovely homely atmosphere with very helpful ladies on hand to answer questions. Mind the rickety stairs !!! Lots of memorabilia from 1800 to 1970s, some of the toys I can recall from my childhood and they are always happy to receive donations of toys, clothing etc for displays. Entrance is free but I felt compelled to put a donation in... More
