This is a monument built to mark the location of the equator. It has a dramatic entrance and sculptures of some of the heroic men of Ecuador. Worth a visit, but wear sun block and a hat. There is little shade.

Went here by public bus. Nice place to spend a few hours, don't be rushed. We enjoyed the grounds, the museum, the lookout on the top of the museum had great views. There is a good restaurant. Can return to Quito for about 25 cents by taking a bus from right outside. Buses go to La Ofelia station or centro/miraflores,... More

My girlfriend and I went to visit different cities in Ecuador. We stopped by at the Mitad Del Mundo to see the line that separates the two hemispheres. It was a great experience. There was also a museum of some sort where they show the culture and traditions of Ecuadorian people. We'll visit again! -mm

Loved every inch of this place! It was awesome and it was an exquisite experience definitely a must see and do while being here in Ecuador. Besides this is a very cool place to learn more about history as well and how the people used to live. Amazing food with good prices and awesome keepsakes!

lots of shops to play in. set up like a Caribbean cruise port. Bathrooms you had to pay for the toilet paper. There is a tower to view the top from, but you have to buy tickets and this isn't clear and never did find out where to buy them fro.

We got to go early and avoid a lot of the crowds. More massive in scale than the intian museum they both dovetailed each other well. The monument is surrounded by mountains which frame it very nicely for great pictures.

Our cab driver estimated a 40 minute drive and agreed to stay in the parking area for the entire time we were in the attraction for $50. We asked the front desk at our hotel and he confirmed that was a fair price. The park is well maintained, has a variety of interesting thing to do and decent shops and... More

I thought the museum is quite polished and well-maintained but too technical for me. This is the reason why a find it a little boring. The overlooking view is great though. The entrance fee was 3 USD and an additional 1.5 USD if you want to enter the Planetarium. The yellow line divides the two hemispheres. There are some souvenir... More

Gotta say this; whoever the politician dude was who said, "Let's hype the whole equator thing a bit more here" ...well, yeah. He's succeeded. At least, judging by the line of 100 people waiting to buy admission tickets to the Middle of the World park, it's worked out. & I'll begrudgingly admit, it is a lovely park. BUT....(& you heard... It was not my favorite part of our trip but it did keep us occupied for a bit. We probably will not return on future visits. I would say it's worth 1 visit.
