Sagaing Hill offered great views of the surrounding area and great photo opportunities. Not far outside of Mandalay and a must if you are in the area. I would recommend taking a car up if it is a particularly hot day. Also great to visit is the nearby Sitagu Buddhist Academy.

This amazing hill offers me a lot of places to quietly relax and take photographs. You may hire a motorcycle-taxi to drop you on top and walk down hill so you will have an opportunity to visit something that you like.

Very, very historical place to visit. If you like Buddha temples it's a must! Sagging Hill ist a beautiful place near Mandalay! Go and see!

My visit to Sagaing was part of a motor bike day tour with guide, of the three ancient cities, teak bridge and other sights. The views across to the river and surrounding hills are spectacular though accessing the main temple must be navigated through a crowded jumble of stalls and people. Having said that, the journey up the hill, the... More

Too many attractions here to fit in as part of a three city tour but what we saw was well worth the visit. Views from the hill are also amazing. If we come back to the region I think we'd spend longer here and see some of the smaller sites as well at a more leisurly pace.

Stunning views from the hill. We had a taxi for the day and it was one of the best places we visited. We climbed a few temples and sat quietly contemplating the views. Many visitors, and it will get busier like all the sites we saw in Myanmar, esp. around Mandalay. I cannot see how coaches can possibly get there,... More

It used even to be very good - but as more and more tourists are coming it becomes more and more a nightmare. We have to use overpriced trucks to climb up the Hill. Two temples are worth a visit -Soon o Punya is a brilliant large temple - most important here is the view over the river - neighbouring... More

This was one of my highlights of my trip. The views were just stunning, plus beautiful buildings. Easy to get there by car.

Once I arrived to the top of Sagaing Hill, the views were worth the trip. Several gold stupas and pagodas dot the landscape—the sunset views from U Min Thone Sae and Soon U Ponya Shin Paya are gorgeous. I learned that more that 3,000 monks and nuns live below Sagaing Hill, probably the largest concentration of monks and nuns in... More
