Because it was 34°C, we chose to sit in the last car that was open with just a few tables and chairs. The breeze went through from side to side and made the trip most enjoyable. We learned so much about the residents of Ogema Pulling together to get this up and running in 2010. It’s very impressive for a small community. The museum was fantastic as well although we could have spent a whole day there. There was so much to see. Congratulations Ogema! Well done!

It would be awesome if on your website when booking it would mention there is a free admission to the museum with your tickets. We would of made a day of it if we had known.
Also highlighting some of ogema’s businesses would be great, like the ice cream shop etc.
Also the grounds around the train station are beautiful and great for a picnic but didn’t know that either until we arrived

The determination of a small community shines brightly in Ogema. Proud to live in SK with you. Train ride was great, Elevator history is great. Conductor and tour guide are fabulous. Love to see how vibrant Ogema is. Definitely recommend for everyone to make a day trip to experience this lovely ride and community.

I would highly recommend the Pitchfork Fondue train tour. The conductor and hostess were very friendly and knowledgeable about the train and the countryside that we travelled as we made our way to our destination and a delicious meal of steak and all the trimmings. The atmosphere on the train was very relaxed and hospitable. The Heritage train has to be experienced to really be appreciated as it is hard to imagine the countless hours of work and commitment that was necessary to complete this project so that we can all enjoy a train trip into history.

Very impressed with the Heritage train tour, the story of a determined community, and also the most helpful crew (I had difficulty entering the train and conductor cheerfully assisted).

Fabulous tour and history lesson on the small Saskatchewan town of Ogema and the history of the train itself; the strength and commitment of a small community to keep this tour in operation. I highly recommend. I have been on the tour twice and will definitely go again.

I can only echo all the fine things others have said. We took the Heritage excursion. I’ve always wanted to see how the old grain elevators worked and what was inside. Now I know. Hope to go back someday and enjoy one of the “dinner” rides. Amazing work by so many dedicated volunteers. The coach was so clean, fresh paint or so it seemed. Fun and friendly staff. A really fun and educational experience. Don’t miss a visit to the museum, your eyes will pop!

It depends on which tour you book. They have different names and some are just the train ride, some offer lunch, some have supper. Check out their website for the different tours and book the one that has the things you would like to do or see. They all are very good. Drinks, including beer are available for purchase on the train. There is a gift shop at the station.
What are the prices and departure times.
