We organised a trip through Fernando (email: sifuentes.fede(at)gmail.com) a few weeks before our planned arrival in Nuevo Rocafuerte. He was super responsive, very professional and gave us all the info we needed to get to the start point of the 4 day/3 night tour. The tour in itself was well organised (all tents, bedding, wellington boots and bivouac accessories provided) and super diverse (usually bird watching before breakfast, a 3-4 hour forest walk in the morning and then some boating on the Yasuni river and Laguna in the afternoon). We were blown away by the animals we were able to hear, to detect traces of and, if lucky, to actually spot! Fernando’s knowledge of the forest and it’s inhabitants along with his uncanny knack for spotting wildlife made our experience just magical :)

Yasuni is an amazing place to see the beauty of the amazon, the creatures that live there, and the lives of the people who are indigenous to the region

I also recommend Fernando Sifuentes – I only had 24 hours in Yasuni National Park, but it was a day I will never forget. The walks in the rainforest were incredible, and Fernando knows everything you could possibly want to know about the life in the rainforest. I felt like I was in my own National Geographic episode.
His wife and two kids are incredibly pleasant and his wife is an excellent cook! They all know how to spot wildlife where I would never have seen it were it not for their keen eyes. If you’re considering a trip to Yasuni (which is said to be the most bio diverse place on the planet) you’ll need a guide, and I can’t imagine a better experience than what Fernando offered.
Fernando's WhatsApp: +593 98 051 9789
If you can't reach him immediately, don't worry - he's often in the heart of the park with no signal but returns to the town when his tours finish and will respond.

We had an absolutely wonderful trip to Yasuni national park. As we are travelling for a long period of time, we were looking for the best budget way to visit. We took the daily local boat from Coca to Nueva Rocafuerte (18 USD one way) which was around 6.5 hours with a stop for lunch, spent 2 nights in Nueva Rocafuerte in Yurag Wasi hostal, (25 USD per night for 2 people with air con ). From here we hired our excellent guide Luis to take us for a full day to the park (60 USD per person per day with breakfast and lunch included). We spent most of the day on his boat wildlife spotting and also left the boat for 2 short walks into the rainforest visiting giant trees and seeing more animals. The scenery is spectacular, completely unspoilt rainforest and we didn't see any other tourists. In just one day we saw pink and grey river dolphins 5 species of monkey, toucans, macaws, frogs, snakes and butterflies. For anyone interested in the same trip, here is Luis' number, he mainly works from recommendations...+593989941195

This clay lick was only discovered in the 1990s and is visited by hoards of birds every day from 10am to noon. Nothing quite prepares you as you sit in the hide hearing the bird calls of a large number of birds when they suddenly descend on mass to use the clay lick which gives them necessary minerals. On the walk through the forest to the lick spectacular views of macaws are sometimes available. The attraction charges an entry fee of 20 USD per person.

We were looking for a more economic option for park national Yasuni. We travelled to Nuevo Rocafuerte and went for a tour with guide Luis Ramos. He is an amazing guide and the National Park of Yasuni is simply stunning. We camped next to a beautiful laguna didn't see any tourists for the entire time in the park. Luiz took us to places of pristine primary rainforest, the nature here is very wild and untouched. In two days, we saw monkeys, parrots, caimans, birds, giant trees, big beetles, beautiful butterflies (including morpho). We also learned about traditional medicine.
We have been in the Jungle in Peru next to Iquitos before, so we were not sure if the jungle here would be very different, but the area of the park that we visited was like nowhere else.
We compared the prices of all Tour Guides in Nuevo Rocafuerte and found that Luiz offers the best price. He is very experienced and knowledgable. His ability to spot camouflaged animals is very impressive. We could feel that he is passionate about his job and the fact that he is always up for a good joke made the tour even more enjoyable. 5 stars!
Luiz doesn't have whatsapp but he can be reached through his sons: Raul: +593968095176 or Luiz (jr.): +593989941195

He was an amazing guide with reasonable prices that catered our Yasuni trip to exactly what we wanted to see. Amazingly good eye for spotting animals and lots of info to share. He was very helpful with info about the surrounding area and helped us get onward to Panatoja. His what’s app should be in another TripAdvisor post

First a warning for future travelers.
We had a great recommendation from a friend about guides Luis (father) and Raul (son), and contacted Raul more than a month prior to our arrival in the Amazon about a guide. Raul was responsive and we agreed to a private 3-day tour with Raul's father, Luis.
When we arrived in Coca, Raul met us the evening we arrived and explained the tour to us, and brought us to the dock to buy our non-refundable ticket to Roca Fuerte the next day, where Luis would meet us.
Shortly after buying the ticket and parting ways, Raul called us to let us know that the plans had changed. That he had contacted Luis and he was not able to give us our tour because he had instead taken three other people into the park for a tour. Why he told us this after we had already agreed on everything, after we had driven across Ecuador to Coca, and *after* we had purchased our tickets, I will never know.
We asked for a solution, and he offered none, except that we could "join the tour in progress". No compensation for joining up with another group of unknown people and not being able to do the itinerary we planned. No solution provided such as recommending another guide or anything like that.
So if you book with Raul or Luis be aware that they may change your plans at the last moment (and for a reason within their control), perhaps if a slightly larger group comes along (more lucrative since they charge per person).
Since they left us hanging and we already had the boat ticket, we left anyways for Roca Fuerte, and ended up taking a 1-day tour with Fernando, who was *great*. His passion for the park and its animals really shows. He knows more than 300 types of birds found in the park, can describe their sounds and will eagerly point them out. I highly recommend you hire him if you want a responsible, seasoned guide.

From Coca, we boated to Nuevo Rocafuerte, where we met up with our guide Fernando Sifuentes. He was a great guide who took us into the Yasuni National Park for 4 days and 3 nights. He was well prepared and very knowledgeable. Tents, water, and food is included in his tour and we ate great every single day. I was very impressed. We spent all of our time looking for wildlife and Fernando was just as excited as us to get out hiking and looking. We saw several species of monkeys, as well as parrots, sloths, dolphins, otters, and more. Definitely would recommend seeing Yasuni with Fernando and I will be going back again myself.

We were part of a tour - Overseas Adventure Travel. We flew into Ecuador and were taken by a bus (part of the tour) to the river for boat access to the Park. It was a 2+ hour boat ride. I don't know any other way to get there. Maybe someone else can give you more information.

Gracias?
