For a park that is on the Saint John River, there is no where in the park to launch a kayak!!! We were told by TWO park employees that you could put in on the beach, but, no, that is not permitted. They could so easily make a place for someone to put in a canoe or kayak. The park says there are over 300 campsites, yes there are, but when you take out the seasonal campers, that number drops a lot! We visited during Covid and the washroom nearest to us was down to 1 person at a time. Oh my, lineups!!! I wouldn’t mind using an outhouse but there wasn’t one in section 3. And, there were no paper towels in the washroom for turning off the taps and no hand sanitizer. The washroom was clean, but it was pretty tired, could use a little sprucing up. All in all, when New Brunswick is urging folks to have a staycation, they should try make us comfortable and safe.…

We apologize for your experience. You can launch most anywhere along the shoreline as long as you are not crossing someone's campsite. Staff have been informed of this. We are creating shoreline accessible paths in Campground #2 & #3 that will be labeled based upon your review. Yes, we have over 300 sites, of which less than 50 are seasonal sites. COVID-19 washroom limitations are in place to ensure everyone's safety. We have 10 available washroom buildings (each with a male side and female side) within our campground. We budget money every year for washroom building enhancements. Hopefully you will visit us again and have a better experience.

Not what it used to be back in the NB tourism heyday but still a fun place to go with the kids or to take in some beautiful scenery along the cross country ski trails

Absolutely love this park - summer and fall are so beautiful. It also has a nice restaurant (Moco Mactaquac) that is within walking distance. I highly recommend.

We stayed at Mactaquac Provincial Park for one night in mid-September. The campground is huge, very clean, and beautiful with the trees just beginning to turn colour. People were very friendly, the price was right, and we had a very enjoyable stay. We will be back!

This is a huge park with all types of activities. The campground has huge sites, but the electrical is limited as is water and they have a dump station. The park lost all power while we were there and we had to use our generator. The setting was green and beautiful, but not really adequate for RVing.…

Thank You for your review. We are aware of the electrical issues, and I know the outage event you referred to. Now that the our campground is closed for the season, we are clearing tree limbs from near our power lines, and are planning an electrical and water tap upgrade for 2020 and beyond. Hopefully you can join us again in future years!
