We hiked and explored probably 4-6 miles of this lovely forest! Fantastic opportunity and absolutely beautiful.

This is one for the family. So much to see. Explore different areas with different levels of difficulty walks/climbs. I would recommend exploring gougane barra church and grounds then walk into the woods.

It's no wonder that 'green' is the colour associated with Ireland since this beautiful forest exhibits may lush greens. The little town of Gougane Barra with its lake is obviously a popular holiday base. It also has the picturesque little church of St. Finbarr beside...More

My tour group was lucky enough to explore this beautiful forest one morning near the beginning of our tour. What a wonderful introduction to the lush and green vibe of Ireland, everything dripping wet and covered in moss. The sheep seemed to enjoy it too!

We had the absolute best time hiking in this forest! As others have said, it is worth the COINS ONLY 5 Euro entry. After taking a picture of the map in the gift shop near the hotel and pub, we decided to hike the strenuous-rated...More

Relaxing walking tracks and family friendly features. This is a a wonderful state recreational park in a wonderfully pleasing landscape. Our time here was all too brief. Make sure you allow a good few hours to spend here.

Well worth the 5euro entry (coins only). We did one of the "difficult" climbs to the waterfall, with 3 kids (11,9,7) , not used to hiking, but they did it easily. Really recommend. Bring a picnic - we went on a Saturday and there was...More

This is a gorgeous park. The views are spectacular and the walking trails are in good shape. There is a cute little church on an island that you can visit including a well documented history. Beautiful place.
