Beautiful and very clean square, unfortunately it was all roped off because of COVID restrictions. People can come on their own and stay at the various hotels, but tours are not allowed until after 1/31/2021. There were still people out an about and the restaurants around the square were open, but all of the tasting rooms were closed. I can't wait to come back another time when the town is fully open!…

It is true that is very touristic, but nowadays... there are very few places untouched by the crowds. Weekdays are lesser crowded.

PRO'S: I'm glad I visited Tequila, I've always been interested in seeing it. It's small and full of restaurants and shops. I enjoyed hearing about how tequila was made and it's history. CON'S: It's very touristy

Central square with lots of carts serving Tequila ! Classic Mexican square with central bandstand surrounded by the church, historic buildings and bars. There was also a local craft market on the day we were there. A good place to stop for a drink to watch the wield go by.

The plaza is lively. Tequila carts serve dry at night while Mariachis play. During the day there is also music and vendors.
