It's quite a climb and you really need sturdy footwear as the "path" is loose rocks in places with very uneven surfaces. Great views from the top and there happened to be some live music in Occi church (the only building still in one piece)....More

The deceptively steep climb fades from the memory when you reach the village and look down over the plain and sea. It is incredible to imagine people actually living there. What a view they had but life must have been hard and self sufficient and...More

We parked near the entrance to camping panoramic and the walk took 30-40mins. Looked like an old mule track so wasn't too steep but is climb all the way. Was very quiet at top, bumped into a couple of families who had walked from the...More

An abandoned stone-wall village, high up on a mountainside above Lumio village. The village, when you eventually get there, is very beautiful and atmospheric, and I am sure keen photographers would get very excited by the ruins.

Thanks to other reviewers we parked on the road near Camping Panoramic - this was great for access to the path up the hill (it's over the road just down from the campsite entrance), but walking with small children along the road bit was a...More

Glad we saw this very photogenic abandoned stone-wall village, high up on a mountainside above Lumio village. The walk to access it is suitable only for the able-bodied, with a steep gradient (1:1 most of the way) on slippery rocks and stones. Sensible shoes, water...More

We had to park to east of Lumio village on ground at the road junction as no room elsewhere. It is about 20 minutes walk up to the abandoned village which is quite interesting. The view from up here down to the coast is splendid....More

Like previous reviews suggested, we parked at Camping Panoramic and took the path on the other side of the street. Beautiful views on the hike up and it took us 20 min to the village.

I would recommend the path opposite Camping Panoramic to start the walk as we couldn't get a parking spot in Lumio. Interesting deserted village with a history. Splendid views from it as well and interesting terracing of orchards on the way up.

We cycled from calvi, (a long climb!) but well worth it for the views, and the welcome beer when we got home! Best place to park the bikes is by the hotel Chez Charles, the path up to the ruins starts behind the hotel. Bring...More
