We drove up the mountain with our small rental car. Road is winding and very nice to drive if you like that. Visited the old Nato base just before the top, is rather fascinating and completely falling apart. Then we parked the car and the...More

There is a winding road off the main road between Tempio and Oschiri which goes to the top of Monte Limbara. It is possible to drive right to the top at 1359 metres high. It is so peaceful at the summit and the views on...More

Definitely worth the drive, and without small kids probably a great hike. The view is breathtaking. And as a telecommunications engineer I found all the antenna arrays an added bonus.

The antennas disturb the view, but it was possible to walk around them. The road is paved all the way to the top.

The long and winding road to the top is worth it, if a little daunting in places. the views across the north of the island, to both coasts are fabulous.

Monte Limbara offers terrific views all across northern Sardinia. Leave your car and trek; the various hiking paths are very well signposted and offer walking in beautiful scenery. Walking boots required, no flip-flops.

Enjoyed walking in autumn sunshine. The place was virtually deserted which was ideal for people who are seeking solitude. Take supplies with you off season as there are no facilities on the mountain.
