A lush national park situated on the coast. Very pretty bays with yellow sand. We walked a section of the track, the Loop Track. This was quite strenuous at times and took about 6 hours with stops. Mainly through forest, then out to some of the bays in the latter part of the walk. Stay at the Totaranui Campground and... More

Started the track at Marahau and went through not too far to Tinline Beach. So many beautiful little bays and the track is kept fantastic by DOC. Only complaint is the state of the toilets at the DOC carpark. I was ashamed to be a kiwi knowing that our many many wonderful tourists who come here for our "CLEAN" beautiful... More

We took a catamaran boat thru the national park. The boat ride itself was refreshing and enjoyable. Some of us got off on one of the stops and hiked to pick up the boat on the next stop. The boat went from one spot to another returning to the starting point, There were beautiful beaches, beautiful views and picnic spot... More

Words are less to describe the beauty of this 60km walk. We were lucky to have spectacular weather which made every bit of the hike totally worth it. Very well maintained track with all amenities at main campsites. Only big campsites have fire, smaller ones are more beautiful but facilities are basic. Its not a difficult walk but can get... More

Very quiet and restful with plenty of water activities and beautiful beaches and walks. Stayed in Kaiteriteri - all restaurants close very early (last orders before 7pm) and not a lot of choice for eating out, but a really special place. We stayed in one of the cabins in the holiday park - Sandy Bay Road, great location - right... More

We completed The Able Tasman Coastal walk over 5 days (4 nights). We are a family of 5 (two adults and 3 girls ranging in age from 14yrs down to 8yrs). We were... More

We spent 5 days walking length of track from Marahau to Wainui Bay - 5 sunny days - no rain or wind - even managed to get in 2 swims- not bad for autumn weather. The birdsong was amazing and followed us the length of the track , the beaches and bush stunning. The huts are great -but get more... More

The information available prior to the walk is brilliant meaning we were fully prepared for the walk. The views are spectacular, the walk is really enjoyable and rewarding. The Huts were brilliant - so clean, tidy, great amenities (we were very surprised) and the people we met along the way were fantastic. I even left my phone in one of... More

Tramping on the shoulder season means you may get some crazy weather but the scenery was stunning and the track well maintained.
