Great hiking experience, you’ll get a lot of variety on the track (hills, beaches, a swing bridge, small waterfalls,...) and the views over the bays (e.g. Torrent Bay) are simply amazing. Totally worth the drive up there!

Our most favorite stretch was Bark Bay to Anchorage, simply amazing views, quite steep up at times and crossing hanging bridges. Consider: Tide Time Tables as it can lengthen/shorten your hike by 1.5 hrs. Should you hike only parts of the Track & return by...More

This walk is an easy great walk for people who hike. In fine weather it has gorgeous scenery, swims, and great variety with the bush. By Nz standards the huts are excellent too. There could have been more info from the rangers re changes in...More

The Abel Tasman Coast Track is extremely beautiful and a must-see. My children, wife and me drove the the Anchorage Hut with a water taxi, which was already fun for the kids and us. Then we made a Trip to the Cleopatra Pools through lush...More

Walking under New Zealand native bush, golden sand beaches, crystal clear water, kayaking, NZ Fur Seals, easy well laid out paths, some hills and a couple of decent lodges along the way - it's awesome, don't miss it!

We spent 2 days in Abel Tasman (stayed near Bronte), we got water taxis along the coast and to beaches to hike sections of the trail, rather than doing the whole 4-5 day hike. The great thing about that is you can decide how far...More

We discovered a coastal track that was named the Tasman Coastal Track. We had to bypass the Tasman Arch and walk for half an hour and that is when we saw our first overview. There were many overviews over a trek of 7 kilometers. It...More

My husband brought us here to have our first camping together. We stayed one night in Marahau and started walking in the morning. The track was well maintained. Of course, some was not easy especially when you had to climb up with your backpack. We...More

We did a 4D/3N track, staying over in Anchorage, Bark's Bay and Awaroa huts. In hindsight I should have decided to do part of the track by kayak - parts of the walking track have only few really nice viewpoints (especially between Anchorage and Barks...More

My husband and I hiked on the Abel Tasman late March (this year) and we didn’t come across any wasps. Have you contacted the DOC office for an update?

No restaurants on the track other than Awaroa. Every beach is fabulous though my favourite is Te Pukatea. Aim to do walks of around 3 hours. Sea kayaking is a good option.
