Great hike

Beautiful views. Loved the swinging bridge. The water taxis made it easy to go just the distance we wanted.

Just an awesome experience, you can literally choose where the boats leave you and where they pick you up and when, you have the instructions and the estimated times all over the place to be able to plan your trip, the forest paths are really (but really) well arranged. We did a low tide sea walk of one part, saw... More

This was the highlight of our trip. We did the AquaTaxi to Bark Bay then 4 hours walk to Anchorage then AquaTaxi back to Kaiteriteri. Brilliant.

We chose a day hike starting at Bark bay and moving down to Anchorage. We grabbed a water taxi for the trip (they gave away fresh gala apples - Yummy!) and were let off at Medlands. We walked over to Bark Bay and admired the beach but soon turned around to start our little hike. The trail is fairly easy,... More

I highly recommend a trip up to Abel Tasman and surrounds when visiting the South Island. It really is a hidden gem! I had honestly never heard of it, but business brought us to Nelson so we thought we would check it out. Well worth the drive from Christchurch. Reminded me a little bit of the Caribbean apart from the... More

Lots of people hiking the trail when we visited. We took Wilsons cruise boat and got off for a short walk before rebounding later.

Fantastic scenery, well groomed trails, lots of camping sites and a ton of very young and fit hikers remind you that you are getting older.

I went down from Totaranui until Anchorage, stayed in Abel Tasman 2D1N, and staying the night in Awaroa Hut. I think the track from Totaranui until Awaroa Lodge (30min after the Hut) is the most beautiful one. It has beach, forest, viewpoint (make sure you check the Skinner one!) and the lodge is a great place to chill. I don't... More

Only accessible by foot, kayak or water taxi, the ATT is a great way to spend 3 hours or 3 -4 days. Walk through native bush, listen to bird song & enjoy stunning vistas at every turn of the track. In the off season it is easy to water taxi in to one of the huts and do a short... More
