Miju was a stand up guy and you can trust him. He seems to know everebody in the town and showed me local places to eat and drink. I was a bit sick the day we visited the park, so I didn't see much else than monkeys and springs. Be sure to articulate your wishes clearly and I bet Miju will deliver.

We did a long hike through the non-restricted area of Nechisar nationalpark with Miju. He was the perfect guide and understood my request for a little adventure from the beginning. We started early in the morning before sunrise and walked the whole day but with enough rests for all participants. On the way Miju explained a lot and showed us what plants are edible. He even tracked down some water bucks. It shows that he nows the surrounding very well and is able to read a lot of animal tracks. To end our tour we took a swim in the forty springs which are name giving for Arba Minch. Thanks for this great day Miju.

Born across the lake from where we were, Mr. Miju Ararso was right at home in the wilderness, reading hoof marks and spoor like a real tracker, making sure the environment was kept clean and that we did not take a wrong step that could hurt our feet/bodies. In a brief one-afternoon-and-one-morning tour (that’s all the time we had), he organized extensive visits to Nechisar Park, the forty springs for which Arba Minch is named, and the quaint Dorze Village (in a 4x4), drawing my attention to numerous highlights I had missed on my first visit to the area seven years earlier. In a nutshell: I would sincerely recommend Mr. Miju to introduce any visitor to the beauties of local nature in a caring, knowledgeable and very reasonably priced way.

We were really looking forward to see the park when I went to Arba Minch. Too sad that we were informed that the park is temporarily closed to visitors due to security issues. The staff informed that the park may re-open after one month or so.

I have a great admire for Nechsar national park which is located in southern part of ethiopia in Arbaminch city.the park is accessible by land cruiser and by walk with preety birds music and visiting different types of endemic monkeys. The location of two big lakes Abaya and chamo gives great charisma for the park and for the city. The temprature of the city is beutiful. So my Recomendation for trip advisors is that

Excellent park where you can find, zebras monkeys and various birds. It is a dense park with variety of trees where you can visit the 40fountains that give name to Arba Minch.

After Omo Valley four day tour we stayed three nights in Arba Minch which is a typical African town. We hired a local guide to enter Nech Sar National Park. I requested a boat trip but for some reason it wasn’t available so we drove 25 km to the mountain and another 25 km back. The road itself wasn’t that bad but the cars are in bad condition and it took 2,5 hours to get there and another 2,5 hours back. If you plan to do a car drive make sure it has working AC since there are tonns of nasty horse flies (who bite) accompanying you in the car!! Mosquito repellante has no use. Long pants and long sleeve shirts are must to wear despite of the overwhelming heat. At the mountain we took half an hour walk and saw couple of zebras, two monkeys and big spiders. Totally not worth for $190! If you want to see wildlife go to South-Africa.

Sitting on the deck of Paradise Lodge or Haile resort looking out over Lake Chamo, Lake Abaya and Nechisar National Park is an incredible experience. So is exploring the Park by boat in Lake Chamo - highly recommend!

Entering the Park by car, however, is less wonderful. The road is poorly maintained making the trip very bumpy and slow. As we learned, due to poaching and cattle grazing, many of the animals that used to be in the park are no longer there; we saw lots of birds, zebra and a few dik-dik, however, visitors should not expect this to be like a safari where they will see lots of animals. Once we drove for an hour we got out and hiked which was nice; make sure to go early because it gets very hot. Overall, the park seems to have a lot of potential but just hasn’t been well maintained.
