We spent the morning at Villa Romana del Casale, and the early evening climbing La Scala. It is amazing, not only for the beautiful ceramic risers, but for the stunning views back over the valley as you ascend and descend the steps.

Yep, 142 steps is a lot. You can follow your nose and take lateral streets leaving the steps then returning on the parallel street slightly above you. The upward grade is lessened and you return the steps surprisingly further up. Avoid the heat of the...More

A must see while shopping for ceramics. Shop at Maiolica Artistiche Giorgio e Ivano. Dare you to climb them all.

The staircase is really impressive. All stairs are decorated with Tiny ceramic tiles. That is really impressive. Take your Time and try to see as many different ornaments as possible
