A mind-blowing place to be! Probably, would be more interesting for hiking lovers! There is bridge called Basteibrücke!

The day was very hot and sticky, the walk to the Bastei from our hotel in Rathen was up a lot of steps, so we decided against it. After speaking to one of the receptionist back at the hotel we found out about a Taxi...More

The Bastei is a sandstone rock formation that towers over the Elbe River in the Saxon Swiss National Park. Rising to more than 600 feet above the river valley, the jagged rocks once served as the location of Neurathan Castle (first mentioned in 1755) now...More

We visited this beautiful area during a pre planned tour of Saxony. Road signing is good from Bad Schandau. Ample car parking facility close enough is discretely sheltered. It attracts large numbers of visitors including coaches and those guided groups can cause some congestion on...More

Definitely would recommend! Beautiful views and the walk up isn't too long (signs said 40 minutes, but easily done in 20-30). If you want to avoid big crowds, would recommend going in late afternoon/evening, especially in the summer when it's light!

Easy to access if you park near the panorama hotel (about 600m fairly flat). Impressive to see what was constructed so long ago and the wonderful scenery surrounding and in the distance

There is a multi sign post that if you follow it, you will be on the right track. Essentially you head towards the "back" of town, away from the river on the main road and the entry point is off to the left across from some... More
