The old museum was creaky and just dumped stuff on the walls with little or no educational information/value. The new one is fantastic and I try to come regularly with family or classes from my school. They have an excellent shop, tour and education package for schools. Highly recommended.

So informative and incredibly moving to see some of these exhibits in here. You need quite a long time to do it justice but the visit is worth it. Some of the things are gory like the false arm from 1917, but it is all history that needs to be preserved and told. Very enthusiastic and informative staff too. Brilliant... More

This museum is free within the grounds of Fort George, it starts with a very good film giving an overview from where you are free to explore three floors of everything to do with the regiments that went on to make up the Highlanders. It will show you battle honours, weaponry, uniforms, layout of a formal dining table with regimental... More

The Highlanders Museum over recent years has been refurbished and definitely for the better. You can see how hard everyone at the museum is working to make this a great attraction.

We visited Fort George not knowing this museum was inside. What a collection. Fantastically laid out in periods, wars etc. Great stories to accompany the artefacts and especially the medals. The whole history of the regiment; brilliant. Downside was the amount of time needed to do it all justice. I love to read and look, others in my party didn't!... More

See my Fort George review. Almost forced out of the door as the appeared to want to close early. The museum was the main reason for my visit to look at artefacts relating to my fathers device in the Seaforths. The jobsworth that wanted an early finish ruined the experience. Shame!

We went into the museum late in the day and sadly ran out of time. You could spent at least half a day there looking at everything. The layout was good as was the interactive displays. We missed the shop as it again to late. Some fantastic posters on display.
