The Greenpia (Gurinpia) tea plantation (noted as a $90 per person excursion from the cruise) is located in the Mokinohara area. So we decided to take the air conditioned train down to the Kikugawa Station from Shimuzu and visit Greenpia. Note: The train from Shizuoka doesn't takes you all the way to Kikugawa and you have to transfer to another... More

The various variety of products in this shop is amazing, just from green tea. We tasted the ice-cream green tea. It was yummy.

Went with a US tour group. Watched a 5 minute video on how green tea is processed then spend about 15 minutes picking leaves. After that tasted a few varieties in the shop. Would have liked to actually see some of the factory and/or processing. The video suggested they had a minature processing plant, but we were not taken to... More
