We had the most amazing time in town, but the dam itself is a major disaster. It is fully grown with these weird plants and it is very hurtful to the eye.

The lake is filled with plants but we still enjoyed views from this small dam. On a mid-day, mid-week visit, we waited about 5 minutes each way until our car was able to cross the one-way dam. During peak traffic periods, this attraction may not...More

Hartees dam is known for great views of the dam but this time around, some strange water lily grew so much that it spread across the dam and made it seem like it was a swamp. it was brown and extended to as far as...More

I guess with the recent drought in this country the view was not as magnificent as it used to be but was a beautiful site none the less.

If you find yourself driving through the area, visit the dam wall. Very very cool and great place for photo opportunities.

Harties is a very laid back getaway with plenty of dining , sight seeing and varied accomodation. This destination offers pricing from budget to exotic.

We crossed tha dam wall on our any back to Johannesburg. As far as the eye could see, the dam was covered with hyacinth and there was no water in sight.

One thing I can say is that Hartbeespoort dam feels like a holiday place. Everything you want and need is just here. So much to do and keep your kids busy with. The dam and everything in harties is just breath taking.

There is accommodation all around the dam. The best would be to search for the best one depending on your budget requirements. Ty different websites.
