This is a fair drive from the centre of Helsinki but if you are an architecture fan YOU NEED TO SEE THIS ... it's Jugend in one package ! From the design of the hinges to the doors, the arches to the slope of the rooves, it's Jugend ! Saarinen revelled in this and if you're a Saarinen fan SO... More

Visit - a fantastic place - architecture & nature. The summer home of one of the great 20th century design / architecture families - the Saarinens. A quick ride outside Helsinki - go,

Hvittrask is built above a lake; it's a compound of buildings first designed and occupied by three Finnish architects about a century ago. But it doesn't feel dated at all--it's as "modern" in its sensibility as the gleaming buildings of downtown Espoo, nearby. It's fascinating to see how the architects used Finnish styles and motifs, and how confidently they did... More

A must see if your into Finnish design. A beautiful house and museum set on the lake. Very detailed back store about 3 Finnish designers (Saarien, Lindgren, Gesellius) who used this as a summer house for inspiration. If the weather is nice - enjoy s stroll down by the lake. Getting there will mean either renting a car, or taking... More

Really Really nice setting but the food was indeed average compared to price. Service unprofessional and the waiting time quite long. This place is too expensive for it's quality.

A must do. Easy 35 train ride and then a very pretty 3 km walk (train lets you off in the middle of NOwhere!) and then staff can call you a taxi, if you do not want to walk back, make sure to allow 20?? Mins to view the interview with eero's daughter in the basement of the house, and... More

The home of famous Finnish Art Noveau architects - Gesellius, Lindgren and Saarinen - lies in wilderness on a high hill on the lake Hvitträsk in Kirkkonummi about 30 km west of Helsinki. It is really interesting if you like Art Noveau and like to see how these artists lived in the beginning of 20th century. Today it is very... More

Hvitträsk is situated outside of Helsinki, so you have to take a bus or a train (to Kirkkonummi) to go there, but it is surely worth the visit. If you like the design of Helsinki Central railway station or the National museum, you'll love Hvitträsk. This is the place to get the full idea of the Finnish national romantic style... More

Hvittrask - so close to Helsinki, yet so silent and beautiful everywhere. Worth of visiting for a half day, have lunch or dinner at the restaurant - splended food. And at a warm summer day - take you swimming bath with you and try the most clearest water ever.

I live close to this place, so I am not reviewing this as a tourist but a local that likes to go there every once in a while. Hvitträsk has good looking buildings that are part of FInnish art history. Those are worthwhile seeing, even though it does not take much time to see then unless you are very much... More
