We had visited this temple dedicated to Sun God and located about 15 km in the outskirts of Kumbakonam town. We reached just in time since the temple was about to close at 1 pm in the afternoon. We found that this temple is part of Nava graha temple circuit in Kumbakonam and is the only temple which has shrines... More

This temple is dedicated to lord Suriyan (Sun) and is one of the navagraha temples. This temple has shires for all other planets as well. Kol vinay theertha Vinayagar is an important deity inside the temple and should be worshiped first before worshiping Lord Suriyan and other planets. Wheat and red flowers are given as offering here. All the pooja... More

Surya temple is one of the Navaghara temples around kunbakonam. A must visit temple and very near to another Navaghara sukaran temple. This temple will be crowded on Sat and Sun and we have special darshan as well.

This temple is for the faithful. A small temple, it is dedicated to Surya Narayana. It is one of the Navagraha Sthalams. The main temple is surrounded by smaller shrines dedicated to the Nava Grahas. Inside the main temple Guru sits facing Surya deva. The temple is in rural Tamil Nadu and you need a car to go there.

Only temple to have Suriyan as the main god, surrounded by all other navagraha idols. The temple is small but many devotees to it.
