Third of the Chola Temples is Airavateshwara located at Darasuram, 3 kms from Kumbakonam Town. This is small premises compared to other two temples but very much quaint! Autos are available from Kumbakonam Town which has decent accommodation options available.

This is a must see temple in Kumbakonam, both spiritually and visually. Sculptures in this temple are beautiful, and got a rich history behind.

The temple sets you into the Chola Era. Going round the temple is like travelling in a time machine. The mahabalipuram or the hampi do have similar temple - but in ruins. But this temple is in perfect living condition and breathing. This temple remained...More

This is a place which will take your breath away. Awe inspiring temples and a truly magnificent spectre to go to. This would be really enjoyable in a philosophical and devotional way. Amazing on a overall experience level.
