Decided to visit as it's only 10 minutes from our home! It is one of those places that you only hear about rather than know about. It's an English heritage site but it's FREE! You could spend maybe 30 minutes looking around; there's amazing architecture! Definitely worth a visit!

The Abbey is pretty interesting, there's probably a few people who live in Hound Parrish that appreciate it and visit regularly, it's a bit like when I see people who live dead opposite the general hospital in Southampton, I say ..oooh! It's handy if you cut your finger or something and need some late night stitches.. And they look at... More

Great place to wander around for an hour or so. It's free which is always a bonus however the car park is very small; enough room for about 8 cars if people park sensibly (about 5 of they don't!). Its an English Heritage property which is well looked after. There are a few boards dotted around with information but it... More

This is a really lovely monument/ ruin/ abbey call it what you will. Extremely well kept, very beautiful, and can you believe it for such a large site free!!! It is vast, romantic and picturesque. Quite hard to find in that the sign, the only sign as far as we could see, is on a gate which is opened inwards... More

Very peaceful and easy to get to. Good for relaxing and lots to actually learn over there. Also a good spot for a wedding (if you can book the venue £££)

Another abbey ruin to wander over, BUT, this one is FREE and really a great find. It's easy to allow your imagination to "build" the scene as it might have been with the stained glass windows and walls with sculptures and the ceiling decorated. With gowned monks moving quietly through the great hall and the chapels quietly chanting or praying.... More

So refreshing to be able to get up close. Dog friendly and space for dogs to run. Links onto walks which we didnt take advantage of. Bit hard to find even with new sat nav. Face the water near the cricket field and go right not very far. We found easiest to find having parked along the road further along... More

Have visited here a few times now with my young daughter. It's a really beautiful site to just wander around. My daughter loved running around exploring and playing hide and seek. No toilets here but there are some a short walk away across the road along with nice play park.
