Wendover woods is a lovely place, but my reason for the poor rating is the new car park. What on earth? Surely it's not beyond the intelligence and ability of a forestry commission to create a car park that retains some of the original landscape....More
What a shame! Wendover Woods USED to be the perfect venue for a large family gathering. This we did every year but after our experience today no more. It has completely lost its charm and to our dismay trees etc. had been uprooted to make...More
Visited on a Sunday. Great new car park, but despite the website saying it is suitable for prams the was no signing to indicate the start of the accessible trail. We walked to the trail heads but unable to find a suitable path and the...More
Used to use this place as a quiet reflective setting, especially with Autistic clients, but now most of it is a huge Car park, the nice little cafe will soon be no more. Such a crying shame a spot of natural beauty is being destroyed...More
Very nice woods but can do with a lot of felling as views of surrounding area is stunning but totally obscured by trees that aren’t even that old. Hill fort could be completely cleared to gain a real view of what it was like and...More

I whizzed round...More
Acres of beautiful trees have been chopped down to "improve" this place of natural beauty. This is one of the few places i have continued to visit for my entire life thanks to its fabulous natural atmosphere and the abundant wildlife. But, in the area...More

Hi MissK. Bit of an update: the play trail isn't open yet and I couldn't find out when it's due to open. There is a small play area near the cafe containing four pieces of equipment, one of which is currently taped off and out of action. The other three pieces are a circular swing, 4 baby swings and a small spider's web of rope. Parking is £1.70 for 2 hours/£3.30 for 4 hours. If you're just going for the 'playground then in my opinion it's not worth it - you'd be better off going to Aston Clinton Park.
