The center is a charming early Renaissance town with a quite central piazza with several restaurants and shops. Like many Italian towns the stores close for lunch between 13:00 and 14:30.

This is a beautiful little town with a medieval center and some impressive medieval masterpieces including the Altar of Duke Ratchis. The town itself is charming, set on a beautiful rapidly moving stream spanned by historic arched stone bridges. Upscale shops and stores, and a...More

This is an interesting, out of the way historic town but you need to have teenagers accompanying you who are more interested in world history than ours. I would suggest you do not bring them if you plan to longer. Ours got bored.

Beautiful little town in Friuli with many sights to see. Walking through the town was easy; not for a stroller though. People are friendly and accommodating to children.

Cividale dei Friuli is and excellent UNESCO World Heritage site. Within easy walking distance you can see the Christian Musem, the Archeological Museum, and the Tempietto Longobardo. All these places help in the understanding of the Longobards (or Lombards) in Italy during the Middle Ages.

Quite hard to describe, just come here and look around this historical town. I found it several years ago just by coincidence and come back every year since then, even for a coffee in Caffé San Marco, a little rest and then leave again. I...More
