The local river made this industry possible by powering the knife making. Hard to believe how many specialty knives, scythes, scissors etc for hunting, defense, harvest, grape tending, sewing, you name it!! Some info in England sh was helpful.

Maniago was the Italian capital for knives manufacturing for the past couple hundreds year and the museum displays original equipment and tools from the years past. Exhibits are very well presented and the knifes collection most impressive!

An interesting look at knife making in this region over the years. We don't put much thought into it when we use a knife, but you will appreciate the fine details after visiting the museum.

This is a wonderful museum! It takes knife making from a cottage industry to modern times. Then, shortly after I returned home, I hear that the knife makers won a prestigious award in San Franciso, CA. They are still going strong!
