We were very impressed with the sights and gardens. We would come back and stay at a bed and breakfast for the weekend, instead of stay in Windsor.

Pretty walk along the waterfront, this is a great place to spend some time for a stroll or a picnic on a leisure afternoon.

Nice garden to walk through and good view across the river. Benches to sit to see view well placed. Especially good on a sunny day.

I lived in Windsor for 2 years and never got to Amherstburg. Now I know what I was missing.
This park, The Navy Yard National Historic Site is gorgeous. It is on the Detroit River across from Boblo Island, is shaded and well maintained and is the site of a former British Naval Yard.

As we turned in off Dalhousie St. we viewed a lovely fountain dedicated toRose Kelly, a former Amherstburg councillor. The end of the public washroom building is adorned with a large mural painted by Dennis and Dillon White. It depicts the wildlife and history along the Detroit River waterfront.

Next we saw the cenotaph, cannons and pictorial memorial to area men who sacrificed their lives in WW2. Several of these men were only 20 years old. Time for reflection.

On to the waterfront with its colourful gardens, benches and a brick walkway along the river’s edge. It is a pretty place to spend a bit of quiet time!
Highly recommended!

I was just here with a friend of mine and he didn’t want to go for a walk because he’s “busy” today. It’s a perfect 21C today so we didn’t a short walk through the park and even he had to admit it was nice. Even if you only have 15-20 minutes it’s worth it, but longer is better. Enjoy!

Lovely view of river and islands. The gardening is beautiful and well kept and is smoke free. Great place to sit back and relax on a nice day.

What a wonderful place to stroll and read about the historical significance of Amherstburg. The beautiful gardens, old buildings and memorials only add to this riverside park. The Navy Yard National Historic Site has a great history. We went on a rainy overcast day and had the park mostly to ourselves. The 10,.5 acre park is extremely well kept with panoramic views of Boblo island. Worth spending an hour or so especially at sunset.

Absolutely beautiful park right by the Detroit River. Lovely gardens and historic points of interest. But simply a beautiful place by the river.

Great place to take your sandwich and have a Covid - safe al fresco dining experience. Right at the centre of the little village. Good selection of restaurants for such a small town. Lots of pretty historic buildings. I'll come again when the weather is better!

Get an ice cream cone across the street and enjoy a stroll thru history, beautiful flowers and along the river. A variety of flowers are always in bloom and you'll meet many other people enjoying a walk on any evening.
