This place used to be the house of the Mirabal sisters. They were 3 woman who fought against Rafael Trujillo, a mean dictator of the Dominican Rep. They will give you a tour around the house and tell you the whole family story. After that you can spend sometime in the huge and well-kept garden or have something to drink in the local cafeteria. This is a really cheap place where you can learn a lot about the history. From here you can go to El Sendero del Cacao or viceversa.…

I've read the biographies and seen the movies. This house has exactly what you want to see during a trip to a museum. Real rooms, real clothing, real beds, all that! If you're a history buff, this is a great place to visit. The guide was great, the grounds were immaculate and we enjoyed this walk through time very much! It was super informative!…
