Another short, free stop on the Goden Circle route. Top tip: Don't follow the tourist signs for Gullfoss that take you to the gift shop, follow the sat-nav/maps route to the actual waterfall, there's a small, free car-park literally on the edge of the falls....More

Staying true to its name, Gullfoss (translates to Golden Falls) truly is a spectacular sight at sunset. We went in the height of winter and it was a phenomenal experience to view an almost-frozen waterfall from above. Remember to bring gloves and proper walking shoes...More

It was so cold and so windy when I went but I loved every minute of it - despite nearly being blown away! Take the time to walk all the way to the end and then to the lower level, it's worth it for the...More

Just like all waterfalls in Iceland, Gullfoss did not disappoint. We walked out on the pathway “down below” and be prepared to get wet. Also note that we were there in mid October and the walkway does get icy. Don’t skip climbing the stairs, the...More

We visited here with a golden circle tour and it was magnificent! Be prepared to walk through mud and the waterfall mist but absolutely breathtaking!

We stopped first at the gift shop which had an excellent selection of tourist stuff but also high end Icelandic clothing, home goods, etc. We did not take the stairs down to the falls as I had a recent knee injury. The trails around the...More

A standard stop on the Golden Circle. Make sure you walk all the way down to the edge of the falls. As well as climb to the highest point in the park to orbit the falls. You will be tempted to cross the rope to...More

Well I thought it would good but omg it was breath taking, what a beautifully powerful waterfall this is, not just one but two, you could say two for the price of one, except you don’t have to pay anything, I’d just been to Canada...More
