We went to Gullfoss as part of the Golden Circle Tour with Reykjavik Excursions. The Gullfoss waterfalls were wow!! We went down close up first, and then took a few minutes at the end to go up to the upper viewing platform. I’m glad we did it that way around, and I was still almost late back for the coach!... Seeing the waterfalls were great, 3 separate view points and there's also a big shop/cafe there. Seemed pretty expensive but there's nothing else around to compete.

Seeing this was unbelievable, everything about the Gullfoss waterfall is spectacular! The pictures don't do it any justice, so this is a must-do on your trip to Iceland, especially as it is so easy to find a Golden Circle tour! Absolutely beautiful!

We visited this as part of a Golden Circle tour with Iceland Travel. Part of the waterfall was frozen and it was stunning. Unfortunately the paths were also frozen and although wearing suitable footwear we (and everyone else) were skidding everywhere and couldn't get down to the lower viewpoint. If you are going in winter take crampons as our Bambi... More

This is the “wow” experience on the Golden Circle tour. These falls are spectacular, with one horseshoe-shaped cascade coming down from the lake above and a smaller one along the river below. At the bottom of the stairs leading down to the lower falls, there’s a plaque dedicated to the woman who started leading visitors to what was once a... More

So beautiful and powerful. Two different viewing options, from above on the cliff or down the stairs to the middle. I suggest down the stairs for the best viewing. Steps are slippery use care. The gate path was closed that day so we couldn't walk further.

Visited Gulfoss yesterday with my wife. Out of the Golden Circle attractions, Geysir is definitely the most spectacular but this is also well worth a visit and very beautiful!

Gullfoss is with the golden circle route. It's worth visiting but do dress up appropriately as it can be quite windy. There are 2 viewing point. Upper and Lower Gullfoss.

Our photos really do not do justice to this powerful sight.... you have to be there to really appreciate just how amazing this place is. Make sure you wrap up warm (listen to the advice from previous visitors and avoid jeans!)......lots of layers. My dad lent me a balaclava, which I didn't use as I thought it might frighten people,...
