It was after the trip to Geysir and was getting colder but the view was worth it - take the bottom road to this as you get a lower view and walk 20 steps and get a higher view - parking is closer :-) you can easily visit this with the Geysir and worth a 10 minute drive0.

In November we visited the waterfall and although the path next to the waterfall was closed because it was icey this didnt really stop people from exploring. The waterfall is pretty grand and inspiring! It is worth going right up close to get a good photo and get the felling of vertigo as you look down! Also try the icelandic... More

We loved the waterfall in winter. The path down to it was closed, but that seemed to just be a suggestion as everybody was hopping the fence and going down. Pathway was icy but doable with the right shoes. The cafeteria did not disappoint and the lamb stew was our favorite meal in Iceland!!!

This is an incredible waterfall and a must visit location. It was very cold when we went so consider extra gloves and hand warmers if you want to take pictures. I felt like my fingers were going to fall off. I wasn't expecting to be as impressed as I was.

I'm quite sure the waterfalls are spectacular when not frozen over. Seeing them in their icy, frozen state was an awesome experience, but due to the ice leading up to it, one takes unnecessary risks with the possibility of slipping and falling on the ice. Wear proper shoes and it will be a much better experience for those traveling in... More

Going when there is snow on the ground and ice on the river makes it incredible. Great views from multiple view spots.

Seeing pictures prior to the holiday, I wasn't expecting to see such a long, tall wide waterfall. I knew it was big but not that big! Plenty of viewing spots to get different angles. If you wait a few moments you're sure to get a picture with a rainbow. Stairs are steep up to cafe so beware.

From Hotel Borealis, we visited Kerid Crater, Solheimar Eco Village, Geysir, Gullfoss waterfall -- to me, the show-stopper of the Golden Circle -- an hour at the Secret Lagoon hot springs, then back to Hotel Borealis for a brilliant Northern Lights spectacular. An incredible day!

It is truly a breathtaking experience! The view, the sound, the light... Definitely, a must see when you visit Iceland. It's impossible to explain it in a picture, you have to be there to fully enjoy it!
