It was nice to drive by and also to walk in the area to watch the boats and yachts go by. There are some shaded areas as well as picnic areas. It is a bit tough trying to find parking in the area during the summer weekends.

Sit by the water and watch the beautiful and numerous boats lock through. On two of the prettiest lakes in the Kawarthas....Sturgeon and Pigeon Lakes. You feel deep in the heart of Cottage Country, yet only and hour and a half from the big city. Bobcaygeon is the "Hub" of the Kawarthas, and as such is blessed with natural beauty and numerous activities. So much history in this perfect, wonderful, summer haven. Those lucky enough to go there, are delighted by what Bobcaygeon has to offer the whole family, couples, or groups. The local people are warm friendly, and helpful.

We live in Bobcaygeon and it is always fun to walk over during the summer to see all the boats moored and tourists visiting the town
Though we do say a few words when we wish to cross the bridge and the it has swung open to allow boats into lock.
But we also know not to go that way during summer.
Soon there will be a second road crossing which will help this problem.
FREE Musical evenings on Thursdays also Kawartha Ice Cream just in town and you have to pass the fabulous shop of Bigley's. You have to buy something there just to get that fancy green and gold bag. Further in town is a LCBO and Beer store.
It is fun to watch the boaters trying to moor or get out over a tight space. More dockage has been put in this year so more space.
many resturants down main street and tourist shops

Lots of shady treed areas to relax and watch the boats. Public washrooms available. Public parking area. Easy walk to numerous restaurants and shops. Small sandy beach less than 2 minute walk. Great for kids and of course grownups can shop at the famous Bigleys shoe store right across the street !

This town is so quaint and the swing bridges, for cars and pedestrians are so neat, I love it. There are great little shops and places to visit. You have to go!

This is a fun area to watch boats lock through on the Trent-Severn Waterway. Lots of shopping and dinning close by.

Bobcaygeon is a great little town - everyone is so friendly and welcoming, even of four-legged furry friends! Strolling down by the locks was lovely. You can grab a coffee nearby and check out the locks. There are also great shops nearby - one of the best shoe stores I have ever been in, a fab kitchen store, and great clothing stores with unique pieces. Parking right on the street near the locks.

Went to see concerts on Thursday evenings and what a wonderful night out at the locks around the gazebo.
Lots of talented groups and there are pre shows for kids to come out and get involved. Way go Bobcaygeon Music Council for organizing and making these converts available for locals and tourists to enjoy.

Great spot to sit a while and watch boats traversing through the locks. Super spot for shopping as Main Street is right by the locks. Good selection of restaurants to suit variety of tastes. Gardens and planters well taken care of and park like setting by locks is very well tended.

Great place in Bobcaygeon to view all the boat traffic coming back and forth from Pigeon to Sturgeon Lakes. There are restaurants, groceries, beer store and LCBO within walking distance of the lock as well as some tables for picnics. Swing bridge allows for taller boats to pass through the lock. Fine place to people and boat watch on a sunny day.
