We stopped off here after leaving the Taj Mahal & on our way to Jaipur. Splendid old palace & I would advise seeing it with a guide so you can get some history & a better feel of the palace as it once was. As part of our tour we were dropped off in the car park & had to... More

Panch Mahal - Fatehpur Sikri is just part of Fatehpur Sikri. Fatehpur Sikri is a place of Beyond than Imagination, Amazing!!!! World heritage about 30+ KM, constructed by Emperor Akbar. Panch mahal is a 5 storeyed with pillar pavilion. This serves for Cultural and entertainment purpose on Akbar's royal arena. Must & worthy visit.

Fatehpur Sikri is a world heritage site located 39 kilometres from the city of Agra in Uttar Pradesh. It was constructed by emperor Akbar and was the seat of the Mughal capital for 14 years until its demise due to water shortage. It is built with red sandstone and laced with exquisite ornamental carvings in a blend of Islamic and... More

This is a five storeyed structure built in sandstone. The structure's shape is pyramidal. Its a pillared pavilion and its size decreases per higher storey. This pavilion served to host cultural and entertainment performances. The royal women could enjoy dances performances by court dancers here and also feel the cool breeze on the terrace of the palace.

This place is beautiful! However there are so many scams going and persistent people and children trying to sell you things and ask for money, it takes away from how nice the site is. Be careful of which tour guide you get also! Our tour has provided us with a guide, Mr Sammy who had scammed us from the start!... More

Fatehpur sikri is complete package , somehow I like it more than Taj. It has more history and since it did not face so much wrath of war pretty much everything is intact. It has so many things, panch mahal, buland darwaza, birbal house, I think 20 buildings in total approx. .Just a caution a little walk since between parking... More

Must visit if you plan for Taj Mahal and Agra!!! Not so far from there. I traveled with my friend with the plan to visit Taj Mahal in Agra. On the way to Taj Mahal, our driver brought us in a beautiful and stunning place which called Fathepur Sikri. We didn't even know this place at all before we went... More

This place is built by Akbar. As it has five floors, thus Panchmahal name as told by guide. Needs more efforts to maintain it.

Beware of the touts doubling up as guides with each individual offering his version of the history. Shocking state of affairs as these people are bent on guiding you to buy items sold at inflated prices, rather than in explaining things. Best thing to do would be to hire an audio guide and be on own. Without this, it would... More
