The Diwan-i-Khas or Hall of Private Audience is the building where Akbar met with his close advisors or VIP visitors. It would accommodate probably not more than a few dozen people.
Like most of Fatehpur Sikri, it is all in red sandstone, but stands out because of the small, elegant chhatris on each of the 4 corners. In the centre inside you will see the famous Lotus Throne.

The Hall of Private Audiences is one of the highlights of the visit. Externally it is not particularly impressive, but the inside, the decoration, in particular the central column, is spectacular.

This is the small square shaped structure of two storeys and with four canopies. Apparently, this is where the public used to gather to speak to the king. It is also where he met his special advisors. Walk inside and you see a central pillar in the hall which is a piece of art. It has a unique floral design. At the top are stone walkways in four directions surrounded with what look like viewing galleries.

As the name suggests, this was a special meeting place of Akbar with his 9 special advisors and special people of the society. King sat in the middle on the lotus throne and the advisors on each corner. Below sat the audience. Special place for special decisions so entry and exit of the King was also special. The king could leave from here through secret doors in the walls. Amazing architecture...

...located on the northern end of the courtyard...a striking administrative building located at Fatehpur Sikri. Nothing too special on the outside, but the inside hosts a carved stone central column that is rather impressive.
