It was great to also overcome our altitude sickness and relax after a tiring day! Nice view, good facilities in general (even though some showers were not working).

A small drive from the centre of Chivay brings you to this lovely place. There are 4 or 5 different pools in the complex, all with very warm to very hot water in them. If you have some spare time I would definitely recommend a visit, set in pleasent surroundings between the mountains, with a stream running by and a nice picnic area.

The water in the pools reaches a temperature of 38 degrees, which is a bit too hot. Outside the pools it is very cold, so if you are in the pools too hot and every organ outside is too cold. It is therefore hard to rest and relax. The place is in a very beautiful valley, but it itself is not well maintained. There are no hot showers in clean water so you will not be able to bathe after the activity. Recommend to build on the place for an hour, no more

great place to relax and soak in a pool filled with hot spring water. La Calera is outside town but easily reached by tuk tuk or taxi - or walking if you are up to it. in my opinion you only need a ticket for the main pool cost 10 sols - the 15 sols turistico ticket should be ignored. There are changing rooms and lockers around the main outdoor pool - available at no cost. Also there is a little café if you want refreshments - we just visited the pool and stayed around 40 minutes which was long enough for a good refreshing soak.

Located 3 km from Chivay these thermal pools are well worth a visit. There are several pools, main pool runs at a pleasant 38 degrees and is very clean and well maintained. Lockers are available, note locker number then lock with padlock. To reopen contact lady in the kiosk. Entry fee is 15 solas per person.
