I happen to drive by the Kanger Valley enroute to sukma. The forest was awesome. Silent and woods all around you. If you are driving, please do not drive in night in this area. A bit Scary...

This is a beautiful jungle but needs urgent attention of Government of Chhattisgarh. This National Park lacks basic amenities like drinking water and toilet facilities, especially for women. There were very few birds in this Park.

Established during 1982, the Kanger Valley National Park is bounded by numerous villages on all of its sides. Deriving its name from the Kanger River, this National Park Is declared as one of the Asian Biosphere Reserve.

Highlights – The highlight of this Park is its Location and surrounding, the Park is surrounded by a rich biodiversity of fauna like Chikara, barking deer, Chital, jackal, hyena, wild boar, buck, drongo and some rare mouse deer. You can show your kids the animal world over here instead of showing them in the animal book, apart from this, the rich flora like fungi, algae, bryophytes and pteridophytes add beauty to the park. Last but not the least complete the trip by taking the Safari rides.

Location – Situated on river Kolab, this 34Km long park is 27 km away from Jagdalpur

Timing – The Park is open on all weekdays from 7AM to 6PM

Nice place to visit from Jagdalpur or jeypore for one day tour. There are 3 line stone caves in this national park and one water fall(Tirathgarh). Plan for visiting caves during early hours to avoid rush and then p plan for Tirathgarh and chitrakoot.. Might be a compact one day for. Can be accessed from Jeypore (Odisha) or Jagdalpur(Chhatisgarh). Hire a car (preferably SUVs) to conduct the tour. Best time is winter but too much dust! Don't forget to visit TITLI ZONE (on the left side while going Tirathgarh).

This National Park has one of the densest Forests I have ever seen in my life. This time we got a better exposure, thanks to the Jeep Safari conducted by the Forest Department.
The Safari takes you to some of great spots like Kanger Dhara Waterfall, Deer Park and the Kutumsar Caves. A must visit place in Bastar

An enchanting place – hardly any tourists so much less spoiled. The forest is peaceful and the sounds from the birds are loud :-) Nicely loud. Hundreds of butterflies ... !
