This spot is very tranquil with an amazing view of Himara. The walk is a bit tricky - the way is hard to find and we got really lost. Luckily, a friendly shepard found us and escorted us to the monastery.

The scenery and walk are both fantastic-you hike through ancient olive groves and past massive oak trees. Friendly goats will escort you much of the way. It should take about 2 hours from the centre of town.

The monastery itself is lovely, but is still recovering from communist destruction.

I highly recommend making the trip. It feels like a really special spot. It is really peaceful, and still off the beaten path. But take lots of water and get a local to show the way. Don't follow Google maps- the road leads nowhere.

I can send photos of the way if it helps.

I hiked there from himare among trees along a small river and nearly chased by shepard dogs ;) just kidding. the monastry itself is not very special and pretty small but as said the hike there and also the view is very nice.

TIpp: if the dogs approach don't run..
