A bit dirty surroundings but the castle itself is rather interesting: well preserved, information cards and some pictures on the walls, and great view.

You will spot the peninsula from the coastal road. Just make sure you exit the narrow unpaved lane leading to an off road parking lot, and have at least 2 hrs free time.
One hour to explore the Ali Pasha Tepelena castle at the peninsula top (read that review), and afterwards to take a relaxing swim or two in beautiful and calm Palermo bay beach.

This place was amazing. Good view of Castle. We stay at the beach, at the same time we see the castle of Ali Pasha.
A quiet place. The water was so clean.

The very best place to be! The castle is only 10 minutes walking from the sea. It’s a wonderful view from the castle and the tickets to get there are for such an affordable price! The crystal clear waters are so worth it and there is a restaurant nearby in case you are planning to have lunch.

To be honest, the view of the castle makes it quite pleasant, but I wouldn’t recommend going to that beach.

Pasha Alis castle - not just ruins. You can go inside and outside. Signs at the rooms explain their use. Do not miss the prison in basement. Also some description in english and albanian. Clear water and view to the mountains from the beach beside castle - although a bit stones. Good restaurent across the street.

We decided to drive to Saranda from Himara and stop by Porto Palermo. We parked our car and hiked down to the beach and then hiked up to the castle. We paid 100 lek for the entrance and walked around the castle. Quite interesting. We also checked out the view from the castle. Beautiful

Thoroughly enjoyed the short gentle walk up from the beach and then to find such a compact and interesting little castle. It's very well presented and well worth a visit. Superb views of the area from off the roof. Highly recommended if you get the chance.

The fortress is well preserved. The view from the top is beautiful.Special thanks to the guide who, despite the limited knowledge of the English language, told us something about history
