Make sure that you have tickets to get in to the site, not just the visitor center. We went with Mary Gibbons of NewGrangeTours. This place is absolutely amazing. You enter an underground ceremonial site that is over 5000 years old. The roof is held...More

We had absolutely dreadful experience with this place. I was there with group of six people, who traveled from the other part of the planet to see Newgrange. We purchased tickets in advance, but were not allowed to take a tour because we came literally...More

Excellent visit, centre and staff are very good. Recommend you book your tickets before you go. When you arrive at centre, there is a small exhibit, then you walk about 10min to bus collection, bus ride about 5min to site. No photos can be taken...More

Newgrange is an amazing national monument. We had never been before and were blown away by it. We did not realise we would get into the passage tomb itself as part of the tour. They turn off the lights then mimic what happens each year...More

I would recommend that you book tickets in advance and also book a trip to the Knowth as well as Newgrange. Overall with the trip to both places and a tour around the visitor center it took around 4 hours. The staff are extremely knowledgeable...More

I can highly recommend the Newgrange complex of neolithic sites! We visit 2 of the 3 major ones and Knowth was our favorite. The preservation, protection and interpretation are outstanding. Plan to spend the better part of a day - or more!

We drove 1 hour and spent 10 minutes trying to park, walked to the visitor centre to discover that all guided tours were booked for the day, and the site was available for guided tours only. It was only 2PM. Very disappointing.

Newgrange and the Knowth, both are places that you have to visit at least once in your life. We’ve been there 5 times, and I can tell you, it doesn’t matter if you go in spring/summer/autumn/winter, it’s beautiful anyways, the lawn is always green, and...More

It is difficult to appreciate how the people of these civilisations achieved what they did without the machinery and equipment we have today. Putting the structure in place with the great rocks they used is incredible but to lay the rocks over the opening at...More

If you visit the website, there's lots of information, about the booking for tickets and if you have any further questions, I would call the Newgrange complex and speak to the nice staff. God bless.

The sites are only accessible to people on the tour. You can't get on the property unless you take the shuttle. Besides, going inside the passage tomb is the big thrill. You might want to call the visitor center for... More

Yes. You walk around the structure and may get inside in a small group with a guide.
