One of the frustrations of traveling to a new country as a tourist is not getting to meet real local people and see a bit of their life. "Meet the Danes" is a brilliant (and delicious) solution to this problem.
Spending an evening with Claus...More
I recently went with a group of friends to experience Danish hospitality in the home of Claus. There were seven of us and Claus made us so welcome from the moment we arrived. We were given a welcome drink and spent some time chatting with...More
We were hosted by Mai and Torben who were absolutely delightful. They provided a four course meal with two kinds of wine which my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed. Perhaps even more tasty than the food was the conversation. We stayed there for four hours...More
It’s hard to express our disappointment in last night’s experience. We received a simple dinner of baked chicken and potatoes with several store bought pesto. Starters were a variety of herring.
It was not worth the money spent or time to travel.
We too had a great evening with Mads and Christine and their daughters. We ate in their beautiful garden next to their thatched roof house which overlooked the sea. PERFECT! Meet the Danes is an extraordinary way to meet new people which is part of...More

Thank you so much Arnie & Fran for your wonderful review about Claus and Meet the Danes :-)
I'm so happy to hear, that you really enjoyed this arrangement and had such a nice time with Claus and
enjoyed his company, apartment and food.
Claus is super close to Central CPH, about 10 minutes walking from where we were staying, and we also picked this host because of his knowledge in history. Once you see his place, you'll definitely pick up interest/background in arts as well :). I'm a...More

All the best
We visited Claus in Central Copenhagen who lives within easily walking distance from the Central Station. Claus' apartment is beautiful modern Danish style with an awesome oven I envy! (haha). The delightful dinner was just the right combination of traditional Danish and contemporary twist. We...More

Located between Noerrebro and Vesterbro you’ll find Frederiksberg, which is actually a municipality in itself but completely surrounded by Copenhagen. Here there are several fine theaters, from the experimental to the great Det Ny Teater (The New Theater) which specializes in transcribing the great London and New York musicals into Danish, and has done so for several years with huge success. In Frederiksberg you’ll find
Denmark’s most beautiful (and expensive) city villas. These 4-5 square miles form the Beverly Hills of Copenhagen. Here you’ll also find Frederiksberg Have (Garden) which sports huge outdoor concerts, from classical to electronic dance music. To top it off, dining options range from cozy family restaurants to some of the area’s most trendy cafés.
