If you think Versailles is amazing then please visit this palace. Probably the most opulent palace I have ever been in. Absolutely sparkling interiors and so much history. The gardens are lovely as well. It was crowded and its a bus ride from the city but worth the trek out of St Petersburg.

The palace of Catherine has been restored to all its splendor. Although work continues there is more than enough gold gilt trim and artifacts to satisfy even the most insatiable appetite and museum junkie. Crowds can be heavy so be prepared to move slowly behind the tour groups.

Catarine palais at Puskins has been built for kings summer days. It look likes as Hermitage, but we think that it is more rich and more luxories than winter palais in St Petersburg! It has diamond room, amber room, and much more! When you see all building you cant understand how workers could built it without modern mashines and electricity!

A MUST go if you haven't visited this before. Catherine is a little psycho in the head and she just loves building castle and this is one of it. The interior is really beautiful and makes you go wow. It makes me feel for the poor just because of her selfish deeds! Nevertheless, it's a beautiful castle and there's a... More

Very interesting visit, even without a guide. Queuing can be very frustrating as the waiting times are long and some people will devise devious schemes to get ahead of you, but it's definitely worth the time. Once you have bought your ticket (if not online but they are scarce and if complete they will automatically book you on another date,... More

Visited as part of our Russia tour. Beautifully renovated, very impressive. However, the crowds were hard to bear in some areas.

Visited this palace whilst in St Petersburg. Expansive and beautiful gardens only surpassed by the wonderful palace exterior and the amazingly sumptuous interior ballroom and rooms. Amazing and beautiful rooms all building up to your arrival in the 'Amber Room' which has been described as the eight wonder of the world and I can certainly agree. Well worth a visit... More

For an insight into the lifestyle of the Rich and Royal of Tsarist Russia, and to see an exquisite example of Russian baroque design, this is a must visit palace. It was originally built for Catherine, Peter the Great's wife and added to with gustos of gilt by her daughter Elizabeth. It is interesting to see the different styles of... More

Went as an excursion on an organised group tour. The architecture of this amazing place alone is worth a visit, but the interior decor is truly breathtaking, in particular the Amber room and the Ballroom. Some parts are still under renovation from damage caused in WW11, with the emphasis on authentic recreation of bygone splendour. Well recommended.

I suggest to visit it in the period from May till October. First go round the park, which is amazing. It will take around 1.30-2hrs. After go to the palace and take excursion. Ballroom and amber room are fabulous.
