In the centre of the city is Kutaisi Market, it is a massive indoor complex but a lot of it spills outside too. There are not only the usual goods being sold but local specialities like churchkela and tklapi as well as other items unique to Georgia. I stayed for quite a while as I liked the feel of the place, it is where a lot of the local communtiy congregate and certainly has a lot of character and is a worthwhile visit whilst in the city.

I loved this market, full of local character and a great place to grab yourself a bargain. It's bigger than it looks, don't miss the underground bits and make sure you catch the mural at one end.

I recommend to all my friends to go there just to visit. It’s amazing to see all that all ladies and old men selling different food. Each corner have own department: meat, cheese, fruits, vegetables, nuts and so on. And food is super good, it all come from local farmers around. And when you buy something there, at least you can be sure that it healthy.

This is the market of Kutaisi. They sell fruit, potatos, onions and so on. The market also have a few stalls selling clothes, books and handmade objects of wood such as spoons and brushes. There is also a store selling second hand china.

Loved this market. As soon as you walk in you smell the wonderful aroma of spices. The market is mainly fresh produce and lots of it but there are other types of goods on sale, clothes, hardware, kitchenware etc.

Cute small food market in the heart of kutaisi. The layout of fruits and vegetables is beautifully set. It is under the roof so it's good either on sunny or rainy day to visit
I found it a little bit overpriced though.
Anyway absolutely recommended to visit and take some pictures

It's a must to visit place, aromatic, colorful and still authentic. Well, but be aware for a "second time made" cheap wine and you need to know that not all vegetables are from a Georgian farmers. So, if you have an idea for a shopping, then the best way is to go there with some local friend.

Kutaisi is a small nice city, everything is within few minutes of walking, this area busy with car so be careful when crossing streets , market is public one where you see everything local made, closes at sun set.

Несколько странный вопрос. Вообще Грузия цивилизованная страна, на рынке, сомневаюсь, но в магазинах и аптеках, конечно, должны быть. Никто уже давно пелёнки не стирает ))

Advise, please, what should I buy in this market? I want to taste something original and local
Written April 5, 2018
i recomend to buy some Chochkela, which are nuts or almonds on a rope, covered with fruit syrops of all kinds. Buy the thin ones, because the thicks are full with flour

Written December 9, 2017
I think it is open everyday and it opens at 8am every morning and closes around 5.30pm.
